EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SPREADING AGENTS IN CROP CULTIVATION

Date Submitted: 09/07/2026 04:10 PM

    Does the spread really matter?

In agricultural production, the effectiveness of pesticides, foliar fertilizers, and biological preparations depends not only on the active ingredient but also on their ability to spread, adhere, and penetrate deeply into the leaf surface.

Many products on the market advertise "fast spreading – deep penetration – wash-resistant," however, in reality, they often encounter problems:

    • Spreading too strongly will cause it to easily run off.
    • It adheres well but has poor penetration ability.
    • The effectiveness and cost are not yet optimized.

The market offers many options, but none fully solve the problems of spreading, retaining, penetrating, and cost. Therefore, the solution should aim for controlled spreading, good droplet retention, increased penetration, and minimized loss of active ingredient.

SUPER WET – Silicone Alkyl Oxide Copolymer-based spray aid

SUPER WET is a non-ionic silicone surfactant developed to balance spreading, retention, and penetration, enhancing the effectiveness of pesticides and foliar fertilizers.

    Outstanding advantages

    • Spreads widely but does not overflow.
    • Retains droplets well on the leaf surface.
    • Increases permeability through the leaf wax layer.
    • Minimizes leaching during light rain.
    • Minimizes plant shock and is safe for users.

    Message:

"The faster it spreads, the better – it should spread widely but not overflow, penetrate deeply but not be wasteful."

    * Experiment to evaluate the spreading and penetration capabilities of Super Wet

    Target

    • Evaluate the spreading ability of SUPER WET on leaf surfaces.
    • Compare it to regular water and two other spray-assisted products on the market.
    • Observe its adhesion and wetting ability.

    Method

    Four treatments were performed:

    • Control: Clean water.

    • Water + SUPER WET.

    • Water + Product A.

    • Water + Product B.

The same volume (50 µl) of the solution was applied to the leaf surface, and then the spreading ability, droplet shape, and degree of adhesion and penetration were observed.

    Result:

    * COMMENT

Spreading ability: SUPER WET offers superior spreading ability, with the solution quickly spreading and evenly covering the leaf surface, while water and the control products remain in droplets.

Absorption ability: After the monitoring period, the solution containing SUPER WET decreased rapidly on the leaf surface after about 11 minutes, indicating better absorption, allowing the active ingredient to come into contact and be absorbed more effectively, while the control and other products remained unchanged from the beginning.

    * Spray on actual plants:

The solution does not contain SUPER WET – it cannot spread evenly on the leaves and is easily washed away by rain.

The solution containing SUPER WET – spreads evenly, covers a wide area, and penetrates quickly into the leaf surface.

    Conclude

SUPER WET significantly improves spreading, adhesion, and penetration, contributing to increased effectiveness of pesticides, foliar fertilizers, and biological preparations, while reducing active ingredient loss and optimizing cultivation costs.

SUPER WET – Controlled spreading • Effective droplet retention • Optimal penetration.
